Our Commitment: Anker SOLIX Fully Complies with Bebat Regulations

At Anker SOLIX, we firmly believe that true innovation must go hand in hand with responsibility—not only to our customers, but also to the planet we all share. That is why we integrate sustainability into every stage, from product design and development to the final recycling of batteries in your home.
To fulfill this commitment and fully comply with Belgian environmental regulations, we have included the Environmental Contribution (Bebat Environmental Contribution) in the price of our products. We understand that price adjustments may raise questions, and we would like to provide a clear and transparent explanation below.

What is the “Bebat Milieubijdrage” and why is it required?

The Environmental Contribution is a government-mandated fee designed to support environmental goals. Under Belgian law, all products containing batteries sold within the country must participate in the recycling system operated by Bebat.
You can think of this contribution as a “prepaid environmental service,” ensuring peace of mind for the future.
Years later, when your home battery reaches the end of its lifecycle, you won’t need to pay any hidden fees or deal with complex procedures—because you have already fulfilled your environmental responsibility. This contribution ensures that your battery is professionally recycled, preventing pollution of soil and water resources.

Why is this a safeguard rather than just a cost?

You may notice that some products on the market do not list such a fee. While they may appear more affordable, they could carry hidden risks.
The Environmental Contribution is not only about compliance, but also a mark of product legality. It confirms that Anker SOLIX products meet Belgium’s strict safety and market access standards. Choosing compliant products means choosing safety, legality, and peace of mind—while avoiding potential legal risks associated with unregulated electronics.

How are the costs calculated, and where does the money go?

To ensure maximum transparency, we would like to clearly explain how this fee is calculated and used.
This fee is determined entirely based on the Official BEBAT Regulations, and Anker SOLIX does not participate in setting the price. The exact amount depends on the weight and chemical composition of the battery you purchase.
According to the Official BEBAT Regulations, effective January 1, 2025, for home batteries ≤ 200 kg (Energy Storage Systems, ESS), the environmental contribution is €2.89 per kilogram (excluding VAT).
On ankersolix.com, we calculate the Bebat fee based on the total battery weight in your system. The formula is:
Bebat Fee = €2.89/kg × battery weight × 1.21 (VAT)
Examples:
• Anker SOLIX Solarbank 3 E2700 Pro (29.2 kg): €2.89 × 29.2 × 1.21 = €102.1
• Anker SOLIX Solarbank 2 E1600 AC (22 kg): €2.89 × 22 × 1.21 = €76.93
The BEBAT fee is clearly displayed on the product page, allowing you to easily compare prices with and without the contribution.
We promise: Anker SOLIX does not profit from this fee in any way. If Bebat sets a contribution of €100 for a battery, that exact amount is fully included in your final payment. We do not charge any additional handling or administrative fees. We act solely as a collection agent, transferring 100% of the funds to Bebat to support its recycling operations.
Using an Anker SOLIX home energy system can save you hundreds of euros in electricity costs each year. Over a lifespan of more than ten years, this one-time environmental contribution becomes negligible, while delivering significant long-term environmental benefits.

How to verify Anker SOLIX’s Bebat registration?

We are committed to transparency and integrity. If you have any questions while checking the Bebat database, we are happy to assist you.
Anker SOLIX is an officially registered member of Bebat. You can verify this by click here, and searching for “Anker SOLIX” or our VAT number (NL866052963B01).
To ensure full compliance and traceability, we have registered a unique serial number (S/N) in the Bebat system for every battery sold via ankersolix.com. This means that every environmental contribution you pay is accurately recorded and linked to your specific product.

The recycling process is simple: Bebat operates over 24,000 collection points across Belgium. You only need to bring your used battery to any of these locations. No complicated procedures are required—yet you are contributing to a cleaner planet. Together, we can turn used batteries into valuable reusable resources and promote a circular energy economy.

Q2: Does Anker SOLIX make a profit from this fee? A: Absolutely not. All fees are calculated strictly according to official standards and are fully transferred to Bebat.
